Welcome to the Sensors & Diagnostics Lab!
The Sensors & Diagnostics Lab, housed within the School of Chemistry at the University of the Punjab, is a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to advancing the field of smart chemical sensors and affordable biomedical diagnostics.
Our team of research scientists and students employs cutting-edge instruments and methodologies to investigate the behavior of analytes in solutions and complex mixtures, as well as their interactions with synthetic interface materials (receptors) and devices. Our lab is equipped with advanced tools, including electrochemical workstations, portable potentiostats, wearable sensors, impedance analyzers, quartz crystal microbalances, and surface plasmon resonance systems.
We specialize in the design and synthesis of imprinted and functional materials, material characterization, device fabrication, chemical analysis, and (bio)sensing technologies. Our applications span a wide range, from detecting and quantifying hazardous chemicals to identifying biomolecules such as proteins and molecular biomarkers for various diseases. Additionally, we focus on real-time monitoring of targeted analytes in biological fluids such as serum and saliva.
At the Sensors & Diagnostics Lab, we are committed to driving innovation and delivering impactful solutions for chemical sensing and diagnostics.
