This policy explains how the Sensors & Diagnostics Lab website (aafzal.net), run by the Sensors & Diagnostics Lab, School of Chemistry, University of the Punjab, Lahore, handles personal information.

What we collect

  • Account details you give when you register or apply: name, email address, programme, semester, student ID and similar academic details.
  • Content you submit: applications, letter-of-recommendation requests, seminar or event proposals, shared documents and reviews, and messages through our forms.
  • Sign in with Google or ORCID: if you choose it, we receive only your name, email address and profile identifier, so we can sign you in.
  • Optional Google connection: members who choose to connect Google Calendar or Gmail allow the site to create event invitations or send lab notifications on their behalf. We use this access only for those features and you can disconnect at any time.
  • Technical data: a login cookie that keeps you signed in, and standard server logs (such as IP address and pages requested) kept for security.

How we use it

Only to run the lab website and portal: managing accounts, processing applications and requests, organising seminars and events, sharing documents for review, and sending the notifications you have subscribed to. You can change your email preferences or unsubscribe from the link in any email.

Sharing

We do not sell or rent personal information. Information is visible only to lab administrators and to the members you choose to share with (for example, reviewers of a document you share). Emails are delivered through our own mail server or Google Gmail.

Storage and retention

Data is stored on the lab's own server with regular backups. We keep account data while your account is active and for as long as needed for the lab's academic records.

Your choices

You can view and update your details in the portal, disconnect Google at any time, and ask us to correct or delete your information by writing to the contact address below.
